NHTSA Proposes Revised Rearview Mirror Standard for Straight Trucks

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is revising its Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, 'Rearview Mirrors,' to improve rearward visibility for straight trucks weighing between 10,000 and 26,000 pounds, following a petition and recent legislation aimed at reducing back-over accidents involving children and disabled individuals.
