NHTSA Denies Petitions for Medium Speed Vehicle Rulemaking

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has denied petitions from Environmental Motors, Porteon Electric Vehicles, Inc., and Mirox Corporation to create a new class of motor vehicles with a maximum speed capability of 35 mph, citing concerns over safety risks and the need for full safety features.
