NMFS Withdraws Eastern Oyster Petition, Will Review Status Report

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has accepted a request to withdraw a petition to list the eastern oyster as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act, and will instead ask the Biological Review Team to complete a status review report on the species.
