NMFS Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Lobster Fishery Regulations
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is considering new regulations for the American lobster fishery, including increased minimum carapace length and escape vent size requirements, in accordance with the Atlantic Coastal Fisheries Cooperative Management Act (ACFCMA) and the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for American Lobster (ISFMP). The proposed rules would address previously unaddressed requirements for Lobster Conservation Management Areas (LCMA) 3 and the Outer Cape Lobster Conservation Management Area (OCLCMA).
