NHTSA Denies Motor Vehicle Defect Petition for 1999 Ford Contour

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has denied a petition submitted by Mr. Eric Moening, requesting the agency to address a defect in his 1999 Ford Contour due to instrument panel warping, which may affect air bag performance. NHTSA has concluded that further resources expenditure is not warranted after reviewing the petition and testing results.
