FERC Implements Pre-Filing Procedures for LNG Terminals and Natural Gas Facilities Under Energy Policy Act of 2005

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is introducing new regulations requiring prospective LNG terminal applicants to initiate the pre-filing review process at least six months prior to submitting their applications, in accordance with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct 2005). The regulations aim to encourage cooperation between applicants and state/local officials, and apply to both new and existing LNG terminals, as well as related pipeline and natural gas facilities.
