NHTSA Denies Petition to Update Rear Seat Crash Test Standard

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has denied a petition to revise Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, which governs occupant crash protection, to include belted test dummies in rear seat crash tests and a cargo test for occupant protection.
