Extension of Public Comment Period and Public Hearings for Proposed Endangered Species Listing of West Coast Salmonids

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is extending the public comment period for its proposal to list 27 Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) of salmon and O. mykiss as threatened and endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) until October 20, 2004, and will hold public hearings at eight locations in the Pacific Northwest from mid-September to mid-October to gather additional public input.
