NHTSA Reopens Comment Period for Side Impact Protection Rulemaking

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reopening the comment period for a proposed rulemaking to update the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 214, Side Impact Protection, to include a dynamic pole test and a new mid-size adult male crash test dummy, following a petition from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.
