NHTSA Proposes New Standard for Child Restraint Systems to Improve Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) proposes a new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 213, which would require child restraint systems to maintain a minimum breaking strength of 80% after exposure to certain conditions. The proposed standard aims to improve the safety of child restraints by ensuring the webbing can withstand repeated use and harsh environments.
