NHTSA Defect and Noncompliance Responsibility and Reports: Reconsideration of Dealer Notification Rule

This document addresses petitions for reconsideration of the June 23, 2004, dealer notification rule, which updated agency regulations on notification requirements for manufacturers of motor vehicles and equipment to dealers and distributors regarding defects or noncompliance with Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
