NHTSA Allows Importation of Non-Compliant 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 MPVs

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has made a decision to permit the importation of 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 multi-purpose passenger vehicles that do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, as they are substantially similar to vehicles originally certified for US sale and can be modified to comply with safety regulations.
