Temporary Relaxation of Occupant Crash Protection Standard for Motor Vehicles

The US government has temporarily allowed motor vehicle manufacturers to follow outdated test procedures for occupant crash protection until August 31, 2004, as part of a recent amendment to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208.
