Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment Updated to Enhance Visibility and Compatibility
The U.S. government has amended the Federal lighting standard for motor vehicle turn signal lamps, stop lamps, taillamps, and parking lamps to align with the Economic Commission for Europe's requirements, aiming to improve visibility and compatibility. Manufacturers will have a 7- to 10-year transition period to comply with the new standards, following a rulemaking process initiated by the Groupe de Travail Bruxelles 1952.
