NHTSA Extends Comment Period on Smart Passion Importation Petition

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is extending the comment period for a petition regarding the eligibility of nonconforming 2003-2004 Micro Car Company Smart Passion passenger cars for importation into the United States. The extension is due to a request from Mercedes-Benz USA L.L.C., which claims that insufficient engineering data has been submitted to support the petition.
