Final Theft Data; Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published the final data on thefts of model year 2000 passenger motor vehicles that occurred in 2000. The data shows that the vehicle theft rate for 2000 vehicles remained the same as in 1999, at 2.89 thefts per thousand vehicles.
