DEA Proposes Waiver of Advance Notification Requirement for Certain Solvents
Summary
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is proposing to waive the advance notification requirement for importing acetone, 2-Butanone (MEK), and toluene, citing that these chemicals are not subject to diversion control and that the current notification system is overly burdensome, with an average of 2000 notifications per year, to be reduced to 400 summary reports annually.
