NHTSA Proposes New Child Restraint Safety Rating System

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has proposed a new child restraint safety rating system, which will provide consumers with information about the ease of use and dynamic performance of child restraints, as required by the Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability, and Documentation (TREAD) Act. The proposed system will be based on higher-speed sled testing and/or in-vehicle NCAP testing, and will also consider ease of use ratings.
