US and Canada Reach Agreement on 220-222 MHz Band Use Along Border

The Federal Communications Commission, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and Industry Canada have reached an agreement regarding the use of the 220-222 MHz band along the US-Canada border. All non-nationwide Phase I 220 MHz licensees must construct and operate their base stations by January 21, 2001, or risk losing their authorization.
