NMFS Prohibits Pollock Fishing in Bering Sea Subarea

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for pollock by vessels catching pollock for processing in the Bering Sea subarea, due to the upcoming expiration of the critical habitat/catcher vessel operational area (CH/CVOA) quota for the inshore component.
