Environmental Assessment Preparation for Proposed Lease Sale 177 in the Western Gulf of Mexico

Summary

The Minerals Management Service (MMS) is preparing an environmental assessment (EA) for proposed Lease Sale 177, scheduled for August 2000, in the Western Gulf of Mexico Planning Area. This is the first step in the pre-lease decision process for Sale 177, following a previous environmental impact statement (EIS) for four proposed sales in the area, which was completed in 1998.
