NHTSA Grants Exemption to DeTomaso Automobiles for Lower Fuel Economy Standards
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has finalized a decision to exempt DeTomaso Automobiles, Ltd. (now Qvale Automotive Group) from the standard fuel economy requirement of 27.5 miles per gallon for model years 2000 and 2001, and instead sets a lower standard of 22.0 miles per gallon for the same model years.
