Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Occupant Crash Protection Rule Update

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has amended the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard on occupant crash protection, FMVSS No. 208, to give vehicle manufacturers more flexibility in placing the air bag on-off switch indicator on new vehicles, eliminating the requirement for it to be on the dashboard, while maintaining its visibility from all front seats and requiring it to be inside the vehicle.
