NHTSA Reopens Comment Period for Uniform Criteria for State Observational Surveys of Seat Belt Use

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reopening the comment period for its interim final rule on state seat belt use surveys, initially set to close on January 29, 1999, and now extended to March 1, 1999, in response to interest from states.
