NHTSA Amends Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for Head Impact Protection

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has revised a motor vehicle safety standard to allow vehicle manufacturers to install dynamically deploying upper interior head protection systems, which provide added head protection in lateral crashes, without meeting the full requirements of the standard.
