NHTSA Releases Annual List of Defect and Noncompliance Decisions Affecting Nonconforming Imported Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a list of vehicles recalled by their manufacturers during Fiscal Year 1998 to correct safety-related defects or noncompliance with Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS). The list includes vehicles that were substantially similar to imported vehicles not originally manufactured to conform to all applicable FMVSS.
