Summary
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to extend a temporary exemption from nitrogen oxide (NOx) control requirements for the Houston/Galveston and Beaumont/Port Arthur ozone nonattainment areas in Texas, allowing the state additional time to complete urban airshed modeling, until December 31, 1997, and delaying the implementation date for NOx Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) by two years to May 31, 1999.
