Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Update: Clarification on Automatic Transmission Park Position Test Procedure

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has amended the automatic transmission park position test procedure to address an ambiguity, requiring the service brakes to be released during the test, and removing outdated sections for vehicles manufactured before September 1, 1996.
