NHTSA Amends Occupant Crash Protection Standard to Reduce Air Bag Inflation

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has temporarily amended its occupant crash protection standard to allow vehicle manufacturers to quickly depower air bags in low-speed crashes, particularly affecting children and occasionally adult occupants, in an effort to reduce fatalities and injuries.
