NHTSA Grants Exemption to Lotus Cars Ltd. for Lower Fuel Economy Standards
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has finalized a decision to exempt Lotus Cars Ltd. from the standard fuel economy requirement of 27.5 miles per gallon for model years 1994, 1995, and 1997, while setting a lower standard of 24.2 miles per gallon for model year 1994 and 23.3 miles per gallon for model year 1995.
