U.S. Parole Commission Extends Time for Hearing Transferred Prisoners, Allows for Determination Without Hearing
Summary
The U.S. Parole Commission is expanding the time frame for conducting a hearing for transferred prisoners, from four months to six months, to accommodate the preparation of post-sentence reports and other procedures. The Commission can now also make a determination without a hearing in cases where the Bureau of Prisons sets a release date less than six months from the prisoner's entry into the United States.
