NHTSA Amends Incentive Grant Criteria for Drunk Driving Prevention Programs
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has updated the regulations for incentive grants to reflect changes made by the National Highway System Designation Act of 1995. The changes include a shift from a supplemental grant criterion requiring states to deem drivers under 21 with a BAC of 0.02 or greater as intoxicated to a basic grant criterion, and an alternative method for states to demonstrate compliance with the basic grant criterion.
