Certification of Speed Limit Enforcement Repeal
The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued a final rule rescinding the National Maximum Speed Limit (NMSL) Compliance Program, effective December 8, 1995, for all states except those whose governors delayed the repeal. The rule also eliminates speed monitoring, certification requirements, and compliance standards for the remaining states.
