Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Air Brake Systems; Air Compressor Cut-In Amendment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has amended the Air Brake Systems standard to allow bus manufacturers to set the air compressor governor cut-in pressure at 85 psi or greater, citing a more appropriate activation pressure for buses with severe duty cycles.
