NHTSA Proposes Exemption for Lotus Cars Ltd. from Average Fuel Economy Standard
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has proposed granting an exemption to Lotus Cars Ltd. from the standard average fuel economy requirement of 27.5 miles per gallon for model years 1994, 1995, 1997, and 1998, and instead establishing lower alternative standards for the company.
