NHTSA Amends Child Restraint System Standard to Improve Safety
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has amended the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213, Child Restraint Systems, to include a wider range of test dummy sizes and weights, enhancing the safety of child restraint systems through more comprehensive testing. This update responds to the NHTSA Authorization Act of 1991, which mandated rulemaking on child seat safety.
