NHTSA Extends Side Impact Protection Rule to Light Trucks, Buses, and Multipurpose Passenger Vehicles
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is amending the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 214, Side Impact Protection, to include light trucks, buses, and multipurpose passenger vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 6,000 pounds or less, ensuring they provide side impact protection for the same crash conditions as passenger cars.
