Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Side Impact Protection Amendments

The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards document has deleted several outdated sections of Standard 214, Side Impact Protection, which pertain to the phase-in of dynamic side impact protection for passenger cars, quasi-static side door strength requirements for trucks and certain vehicles, and a one-year delay in quasi-static requirements for specific types of doors. These changes aim to improve the clarity and concision of the standard and related reporting requirements.
