Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Side Impact Protection Light Trucks, Buses and Multipurpose Passenger Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration proposes to extend dynamic side impact protection requirements to multipurpose passenger vehicles, trucks, and buses with a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,500 pounds or less and an unloaded vehicle weight of 5,500 pounds or less.
