NMFS Updates Fishery Management Plan for Coastal Migratory Pelagic Resources

Summary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has updated the Fishery Management Plan for Coastal Migratory Pelagic Resources, adjusting the total allowable catch for king and Spanish mackerel and commercial vessel trip limits for Gulf group king mackerel, in an effort to protect these species from overfishing and support stock rebuilding programs, while still allowing catches by important recreational and commercial fisheries. The changes take effect on November 21, 1994.
