الملخص

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has received and is considering an application for the renewal of special nuclear materials (SNM) License No. SNM-2508, which currently authorizes the U.S. Department of Energy Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID) to receive, possess, transfer, and store radioactive material from the Three Mile Island Unit 2 (TMI-2) reactor core in the TMI-2 independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI). The renewed license would authorize DOE- ID to continue to store the radioactive material in the TMI-2 ISFSI for an additional 20 years from March 19, 2019, the expiration date of the original license.
