The Coast Guard has changed the drawbridge operation regulations that govern the Meadowbrook State Parkway Bridge, at mile 12.8, across Sloop Channel, New York. This final rule allows the bridge to need not open for the passage of vessel traffic from 9 p.m. to midnight, on the Fourth of July each year. This action is necessary to facilitate the annual Fourth of July Jones Beach State Park fireworks display.
