Resumen

In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent order prohibits, among other things, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania diet program company from misrepresenting the performance or safety of any weight-loss program it offers in the future; requires it to have competent and reliable scientific evidence to back up future claims it makes about weight loss and maintenance; requires it to include in conjunction with maintenance success claims, the statement ``For many dieters, weight loss is temporary;'' and requires it to disclose to its customers that failure to eat all of the food recommended in the program may put their health at risk.
