FMCSA Exempts 14 Individuals from Vision Requirement for Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has announced its decision to exempt 14 individuals from the vision requirement in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), allowing them to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in interstate commerce without meeting the prescribed vision standard. This exemption is based on the FMCSA's conclusion that it will provide a level of safety equivalent to or greater than the current standard for these CMV drivers.
