Tesla Motors, Inc. Seeks Temporary Exemption from Electronic Stability Control Requirements

Tesla Motors, Inc. has submitted a petition to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for a temporary exemption from the electronic stability control requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 126, citing that it would aid in the development of a low-emission vehicle and cause substantial economic hardship if it were to comply with the standard.
