U.S. Department of Energy Amends Test Procedures for Microwave Ovens to Include Standby Mode Power Measurement

The U.S. Department of Energy is updating its test procedures for microwave ovens to include the measurement of standby mode and off mode power consumption, in line with the International Electrotechnical Commission's IEC Standard 62301, which provides guidelines for measuring standby power in household appliances.
