NOAA Adjusts Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Daily Retention Limit for Remainder of 2011

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has adjusted the daily retention limit for Atlantic bluefin tuna (BFT) for the remainder of 2011, based on data from the North Carolina Tagging Program and the 2006 Consolidated HMS Fishery Management Plan. This change aims to prevent overharvest of the 2011 Angling category quota and is consistent with the management objectives for the BFT fishery.
