Coast Guard Proposes Rule to Add International Energy Efficiency Certificate to List of Certificates Issued by Classification Societies

The US Coast Guard is proposing a rule to allow recognized classification societies to issue International Energy Efficiency (IEE) certificates to vessel owners, starting January 1, 2013, as mandated by the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution by Ships, 1973.
