Safety Zone Established for Bay Bridge Construction in San Francisco Bay

The U.S. Coast Guard is setting up a temporary safety area in the navigable waters of the San Francisco Bay, near Yerba Buena Island, to safeguard mariners from hazards caused by overhead bridge construction. The safety zone will be enforced from November 1, 2012, to July 31, 2013, and only authorized vessels or individuals with permission from the Captain of the Port are allowed to enter or transit through the area.
