U.S. Department of Justice Amends Regulation to Recognize Same-Sex Spouses for Public Safety Officers' Benefits

The Office of Justice Programs is updating its regulation to include same-sex spouses in the Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program, following the Supreme Court's invalidation of the Defense of Marriage Act's section 3, which previously prevented recognition of same-sex surviving spouses.
